Instead of looking at young people’s deficits, we focus on their inherent resources, building on their capacities and their interests. We want young people to feel welcome in our society, and we encourage them to boldly take their lives into their own hands.

Sharing the responsibility
The German Children and Youth Foundation brings together educational practitioners from schools, day cares or youth work, administrators and policy makers, researchers and civil society actors to work with them on changes and pressing challenges in the education system. It is our experience that workable solutions for everyday practice will only emerge if institutions work with each other, instead of against each other. And the best solutions of all are those that are centred on the interests of children and young people.
