The children of today are the future. We need to help them make the best of it especially for under- privileged children. The sooner the better! The Deutsche Kinder- und Jugendstiftung - German Children and Youth Foundation (GCYF) - was established to do exactly that. The foundation provides children and young people the opportunity to reflect upon their own situations in life and enhance their active participation in society, while strengthening the courage and self- confidence to do so.
By identifying and developing programmes that foster and support young people, the GCYF has created the conditions for young people to perceive the challenges that arise from school, vocational training and work as opportunities, not as threats. There are many models and examples to learn from. Have a look, and help us shape the future - today!
Anschwung für mehr frühkindliche Förderung
Auf breite Resonanz stoßen die Zukunftskonferenzen, die die DKJS seit November im Rahmen des Programms „Anschwung für frühe Chancen“ Kommunen in ganz Deutschland anbietet, die ihre Angebote frühkindlicher Förderung ausbauen wollen. 25 haben bereits stattgefunden, 45 weitere sind bis Ende März geplant.
